That Was Some Luncheon!

Last Friday my younger sister Chantel got married to the love of her life, Mike! In between the ceremony and the reception Mike's Father hosted a luncheon... Now when we heard 'luncheon' everyone assumed a nice little get together with a little something to hold off our hunger until the reception... We were wrong...

Mike's father is Italian and wanted to give everyone a true Italian meal! He decided the best way to accomplish his goal was to have an authentic Italian restaurant cater for the event (and it really was an event!)

The meal went like this,
5 appetizers, 2 first course meals, 3 main course meals, and 2 deserts (I would like to point out that this meal was not an 'either or' it was everyone gets it all and is expected to eat it too!)

The lunch had around forty people... It was a lot of fun! A little more then expected (all that food!) but fun never the less : )
I think we still have a box of leftovers somewhere...

We had to get them aprons from the kitchen so nothing would get on their wedding attire!

The Zoo

On Friday Dave, David and I went to the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City! There have been a few fires in the area so Dave's allergies were going a little crazy... which made our trip to the zoo not quite as fun as it could have been BUT everyone (including Dave) still had a great time, though it did make it difficult to get a good picture of him (for some reason he felt the need to squint and look miserable every time I tried to take a picture....)

David found a new friend!

We really lucked out, there was a new baby giraffe (only 8 days old!) at the zoo.


We all ended up having a great time. A few of the other picture you didn't get to see include, a baby snow leopard, a baby orangutan, and bunch of baby meerkats (that were adorable) We are hoping to go back soon because there is an African elephant that is due to give birth anytime now and that would be awesome to see too!
