It has a whirlwind for Dave and I the past week and a half! We have been looking at a ton of houses almost everyday, it has been crazy but a lot of fun. We have looked at all the available houses that are in the area and that fit our criteria (and even some that don't...). We have seen many great houses and have some interesting stories, some of my 'favorite' moments include-
'Ohh don't mind us, normally we leave for these but my husband is sick. He is upstairs sleeping, feel free to look around...' We proceeded to creep around the house and tiptoe past the guy upstairs sleeping in the master bedroom... It was incredibly awkward!
One of the houses had two cats, a really skinny one and a gigantic one (It is possible that it was the same cat, their coloring was the same and the smaller one did mysteriously go missing shortly after we got there... It might have just gone off and ate a raccoon, that would explain it's size) The people who owned the house loved the cats (or cat...) so much that they had to make sure that they would be able to roam the house freely. To make that possible, they cut all of the doors in the house to put 'kitty doors" through them... Not really our style.
There was one house that had a really nice bathroom, you would think it would be that master bathroom because it was so nice... but no, it was just a random bathroom in the basement... There was a bathroom off the master bedroom but it wasn't anything special... Dave and I found that pretty odd.
In one of the house Dave and I along with our Realtor, were followed around by a really curious three year old. Every time we would stop to look at a room, he would stop too and just stare at us. It was pretty cute.
And finally, as the Realtor, Dave and I were about to go into one of the basements the owner of the house said 'oh we do have our pit bull in the basement but feel free to go down there and look around' umm, no thank you...
After Looking at so many houses, doing a ton of comparing and shopping around Dave and I decided we are going to make an offer on one of the houses. We are meeting with the Realtor today to do all the paperwork and then we wait to see if they send back a counter offer or accept. We are cautiously excited and can't wait to continue to move forward with everything!
