Two weeks ago my Dad and JoAnn took everyone (Jimmy, Annie, Mike, Chantel, David, Dave and Amber) to pick out a tree for their house. This is a tradition my family has had for as long as I can remember, going as a family to find the perfect tree. When we lived in Michigan we would go and chop down our own tree but in Utah, we settle for finding a good looking tree lot :)
(Dave making one awesome face)Kaiser family rule of thumb is if Dave can reach (or almost reach) the top of the tree without a ladder it isn't big enough! This tree was a little short, so we kept looking...
(My brother Jimmy and his wife Annie)It was really cold out, but for some reason Jimmy and Annie seemed fine.... I want to know what their secret is! Everyone else was freezing!
(my sister Chantel and her husband Mike)In this picture the tree behind Chantel and Mike looks pretty large.... but don't be fooled! Chantel is 5' on a good day, so the tree isn't actually large at all....
The tree lot had several different size trees, most of them were a pretty good height. There was one in particular that was along the fence that very large, and I fell in love with! It was huge and pretty much perfect but everyone (except my younger brother David) thought it was too big... So instead of getting it we got this one (the one my family is standing in front of). After we got the tree back to my Dad's house and set it all up everyone realized.... I WAS RIGHT! We could have gotten the tree David (brother) and I picked out! Sure the tree we got looks good and everyone is very happy with it but I just needed to point out one more time that the bigger tree was possible (maybe next time people will listen!)

oh I listened! You were right, and I knew it was possible, I just thought it was too large. Not in height, but in width. If the one they got was any wider, people wouldn't be able to walk past it, LoL.
But that was such fun! I am happy to have experienced my first year not being chased by Helena. :-P

I am glad the tree turned out great! And haha, 5 feet on a good day... 4'11" on every other day...
And Annie looks really cute in that picture.
Pretty much, this is making me itch to come home! ...or maybe it's just the fleas...
